American Press Praises YL
The U.S. Concert tour by the YL Male Voice Choir, together with the Minnesota Orchestra conducted by Osmo Vänskä, has been highly acclaimed in the media. The extensive tour that ended in Carnegie Hall was widely noted by e.g. the New York Times, with Vivien Schweitzer hailing YL as "superb" and praising the Minnesota Orchesta and Osmo Vänskä alike. The concerts in Iowa and Minneapolis also received acclaim from the critics and audience.
Belgian Tour a Success
YL’s concert tour to Liège, Belgium, was a success. The vast and cultivated audiences were impressed by the choir’s performances and greeted YL with standing ovations. In addition to Liège, YL visited the Permanent EU-representation of Finland in Brussels, where the forthcoming Baltic Sea Summit was introduced to international guests.
Next up, YL will give a concert in Kerava on February 10th, followed by an extensive tour to the United States. In the U.S., YL will perform together with the Minnesota Orchestra, cond. Osmo Vänskä, and also with a cappella repertoire.
Talescapes Receives Critical Acclaim
YL’s latest release, Talescapes, receives critical acclaim. For instance, Mats Liljeroos from Hufvudstadsbladet appreciates the precious and thorough work done by YL and Matti Hyökki in this album, the latest in a series of renowned contemporary recordings by YL, Matti Hyökki and Ondine.
