YL invites new singers to join the choir. The auditions are in the Old Student House (Vanha) at 8.30pm. More info from the Join YL -page. Auditions also on the 14th and 21st of September.

Hymn Concert
Hymn Concert to mark the latest sacred music album release. Conductor Pasi Hyökki. The concert will be held in the Kallio Church in Helsinki at 7.30 pm.

Christmas Concert
YL's Traditional Christmas Concert in Tuomiokirkko at 9 pm. Conductor Pasi Hyökki, soloists Hanna Rantala (soprano) and Pertti Eerola (organ). Tickets: Lippupalvelu.
Pasi Hyökki's debut "encouraging and convincing"
YL Male Voice Choir's new conductor Pasi Hyökki began his work with YL on the 25th of July with a concert in the XVI Tuusulanjärvi festival. Hyökki conducted YL in the opening concert of the recognized festival with a repertoire of Sibelius' works for male choir.

YL's most recent recording is praised by the media. In classical music magazine Rondo , Antti Häyrynen recognizes Matti Hyökki as "one of the finest premierers of our time". Jukka Isopuro writes in Helsingin Sanomat that the "harmonic constructions are profound and the crescendos are powerful". American Press Praises "superb" YL
The U.S. Concert tour by the YL Male Voice Choir, together with the Minnesota Orchestra conducted by Osmo Vänskä, has been highly acclaimed in the media. The extensive tour that ended in Carnegie Hall was widely noted by e.g. the New York Times , with Vivien Schweitzer hailing YL as "superb" and praising the Minnesota Orchesta and Osmo Vänskä alike.
